Please direct all questions to fl50s@yahoo.com.

THE 250 RUNNER LIMIT HAS BEEN MET; TO GET YOURSELF ON THE WAIT LIST PLEASE CLICK ON THE REGISTRATION LINK BELOW AND THEN CLICK ON THE DISTANCE YOU WANT TO RUN WHICH WILL THEN TAKE YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS.

PLEASE NOTE HOW THE WAITLIST PROCESS WORKS: ULTRASIGNUP SEPARATES RUNNERS ACCORDING TO WHICH DISTANCE THEY HAVE REGISTERED FOR; HOWEVER, RUNNERS WILL BE TAKEN FROM THE WAIT LIST AND MOVED TO THE REGISTERED RUNNER LIST(S) BY THE DATE THAT THEY CAME ONTO THE WAIT LIST (I HAVE THIS INFORMATION; IT DOES NOT APPEAR ON ULTRASIGNUP AND I CANNOT CHANGE THIS). SO IF A RUNNER FROM THE 50 MILE REG LIST CANCELS, THAT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THE FIRST PERSON ON THE 50 MILE WAIT LIST GETS IN. IT WOULD BE THE RUNNER WHO WAS FIRST DATE-WISE TO COME UP ON THE WAIT LIST, NO MATTER WHAT DISTANCE. A LIST OF WAITLIST ENTRANTS IN PROPER ORDER CAN BE FOUND IN THE TABLE OF CONTENTS. THANK YOU.

TRAIL UPDATE and RUN-THRU REMINDER

Trail work has really gotten underway with mowing and clearing of brush. Lots of hours were spent yesterday doing this with more to do this week. The trails look amazing so far; little mud and very pleasant to run! The downside is that the deer flies were out in full-force around the ponds ... greatful that I had a scarf pinned to my hat to keep the buggers away from my face and ears!

REMINDER ... the run-thru of the course will be held this coming Saturday, June 25, starting at 9am at the Potomac Group Campground parking lot. Please e-mail fl5mailto:fl50s@yahoo.com if you need directions. Remember that this is a self-supported run, so bring your own fuel and fluids to get you through the distance.

The course will be marked with these small black arrows on red background (usually only one per turn; 2 may be found in particularly potentially troublesome spots). No other flagging tape will be up at this time (other than a small amount on one of the dirt roads where there is no place for the arrows). The arrows are pretty inconspicuous so if you do not already know the course and you want to run faster than me (who knows the course) then you will have to keep your eyes open to make sure that you don't miss a turn. AS ALWAYS ... if you do not have an arrow telling you to make a turn THEN DON'T TURN! Only turns are marked; you will run straight on the trail unless indicated otherwise. The run-thru is not meant to be a race; it is meant to help you know the course, so take advantage of the leisurely run time to have fun with friends, enjoy the trail, and NOT GET LOST.
