Registration for the 2013 Finger Lakes Fifties has reached the limit of 250 runners for all three distances combined (25k, 50k, 50 mile). Registration for the WAITLIST is open. Individuals will be taken from the waitlist as cancellations come in and openings are available - individuals will be taken in order of the date they came onto the waitlist, not by the race distance (so say you were #1 on the 50 mile list on on Ultra Signup, if someone entered on the 25k list on a date before you, they would be chosen first). UltraSignup maintains waitlist entrants in order by race distance; waitlist entrants in order of date of entry onto the waitlist will be found on this site). PLEASE NOTE: Although UltraSignup asks for your credit card information when you sign up for the waitlist, you DO NOT pay prior to getting off of the waitlist. If you are chosen from the waitlist and ACCEPT the invitation, only then will your credit card be charged. Also, if you are chosen from the waitlist and decline the invitation, your card will not be charged.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUPPORT OUR EVENT!

RULES OF THE GAME

* ABSOLUTELY NO LITTERING!!! Those found littering will be disqualified!

* Follow the course markings. Do not turn unless there is one of the race arrows (black arrows on red background ... samples will be shown to you at the start of the race) telling you to do so. There are some longer straight sections of trail (or dirt road) where you may not see any markings. Continue on these sections until you see course markings.

* There are multiple boardwalks on the trail throughout the course. If it is wet they will be very slippery - like ice. Some of the boardwalks have broken boards – please take note of these and watch your step.

* There is a short section where runners will be moving in both directions. Please stay right to allow for two-way traffic without collision.

* If you decide to drop out of the race while you are out on the course, you MUST give the tear-tag from your number to a volunteer or race official and make sure that we know that you are dropping out. Once your tag has been removed you may not change your mind and continue in the race. ON THE SAME NOTE – when you finish the race, you must make sure that race officials have taken your number tear-tag. THIS IS HOW WE KEEP TRACK OF YOU! If you leave the race with your tear-tag, we will think that you are still out on the course and we will be searching for you! We do not want to be out looking all night for someone who is not out on the course.

* You must wear your number on the front of you AT ALL TIMES and your number must be visible to the race volunteers.  DO NOT FOLD OR ALTER YOUR RACE NUMBER IN ANY WAY; A DISPOSABLE TIMING DEVICE WILL BE ON THE BACK OF THE NUMBER AND FOLDING YOUR NUMBER MAY CAUSE THE DEVICE TO MALFUNCTION AND THEREFORE YOUR TIME WILL NOT BE RECORDED. It is your responsibility to make sure that your number has been recorded when you go through an area where numbers are being taken. If it is found that your number was not taken at one of these locations it will be assumed that you did not go through that area and you will not be counted in the finishing results.

* Runners registered for the 25K race may not change race distances. All runners registered for the 50K and 50Mile races – you are registered for both the 50K and 50Mile races; please know your decision to stop at 50K or go on before you reach the finish/lap area to know which mat you will be crossing ... the FINISH mat or the LAP mat.  50Milers – you must complete the "50K" portion AND START loop #3 within 8 hours if you plan to go on for the 50Mile distance; if you do not meet this cut-off, you will be counted as a 50K finisher when you do cross the finish line.  This cut-off will be strictly enforced. If you registered for the 50K and would like to go on for the 50Mile and have met this cut-off, you may go on.

* 50 Milers ... if you cross the LAP mat after the 50K distance and then decide to not go on for the 50 miles, you will then have to cross the FINISH mat and that will be your recorded finish time for the 50K.

* Each time you come through the lap area and intend to go on for the next lap, you must do this within a reasonable period of time after going through the aid station (this will be elaborated on at the start of the race).

* You will be running through two pastures that will have cows (and possibly a bull). These animals are naturally curious and sometimes like to follow you. You MUST close the gates behind you! DON’T LET THE COWS OUT! Lesson on dealing with the cows to be given at the start of the race. Please DO NOT ANTAGONIZE the animals; we cannot and will not be accountable for animal actions or injuries incurred resulting from bad behavior on your part.

* You are responsible for your own health and well-being; please know your abilities and take care of yourself. There may be Search and Rescue personnel throughout the course to assist you BUT YOU SHOULD NOT COUNT ON THIS. If it appears that you are becoming physically or mentally impaired during the race, race officials and/or volunteers have the right to pull you from the race and if you are asked to stop, you must comply.

* Some of the trails on the course are shared with horseback riders. Please be courteous to these individuals. If you come upon a horse, please announce yourself to make sure that the horse and rider know that you are approaching and walk past the horse to avoid startling it.

* The trails are also open to the public so please be courteous to any non-racing individuals who are utilizing the trails. They have just as much right to be out there as you do.

*  NO DOGS ALLOWED AT ANY OF THE AID STATIONS.  Also, family/friends who drive around the course to see their runners ... YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ASSIST YOUR RUNNER AT ANY OF THE AID STATIONS.  Crews may meet their runners anywhere else along the course, we just asked that they not assist at aid stations.  We have very capable and helpful volunteers at our stations who are more than happy to assist the runners.  Extra people stepping in creates confusion for the volunteers who are trying to keep track of the registered runners.

* Anyone who does not comply with these rules risks disqualification as well as being banned from any future Finger Lakes Fifties event.

* NO BANDITS ... anyone found running as a non-registered runner (and who is not pacing as outlined for the 50 miler) will be banned from all future Finger Lakes Fifties events.
